The Austin Texas stake is sponsoring a giving machine see the flyer below. You can share the flyer with friends. A note from the Giving Machine Committee: As you know the Giving Machines are coming to town! This is not only a stake and ward effort, but a church wide effort. Giving Machines are part of the Light The World annual initiative and we are blessed to finally have them come to Austin for the first time! Giving Machines will be at Hill Country Galleria, located at 12800 Hill Country Blvd, Suite G-120, Bee Cave, Texas. Giving Machines will be operable every day from December 11th- January 1st. The Austin Stake has been assigned to host the Giving Machines on December 27th, 28th and 29th. Members are invited to attend any days and encouraged to support their stake by attending one of the three assigned dates. Here is the Giving Machine training video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqfZtmINJUA. The video is an informational overview, but there have been updates since the creation of the video:
Daily entertainment provided by stakes has been restricted to 1 or 2 performances a day by Hill Country Galleria.
There will no longer be daily craft activities provided by the stakes at Hill Country Galleria.
Proselytizing and the mention of the name of our church at Hill Country Galleria is prohibited. Speakers, volunteers and entertainers are not allowed to mention the name of our Church, we can only refer to TexasGivingMachine.org as the "sponsor".
Reasons for the updates: Hill Country Galleria provides much of their own entertainment and activities during the Holidays and Hill Country Galleria takes a neutral stance to avoid losing/offending their non-Christian audience and thus the mention of any church is prohibited. Please don't be dismayed by the updates. The purpose of the Giving Machines is to uplift and encourage Christlike service and that purpose remains. Great things shall come to pass. We thank you for your continued support.
President Aldridge recently met with management at the City of Pflugerville. He asked how our wards, mostly being comprised of Pflugerville residents, might help the city in serving the Pflugerville community. One of the city's needs at the moment is filling volunteer positions on various city boards, commissions, and committees. Over the years, members of our stake have filled these positions and had wonderful experiences helping the community and making new connections with area neighbors. Information on applying for volunteer positions on Pflugerville boards, commissions, and committees can be found on the city's website here.
There is a list available of young women who are willing to babysit and their availability. If you would like this information you can request it from any member of the Young Women presidency or Kristi Wright.
Doctrine and Covenants Adult Class Brother D. Lynn Johnson, our stake patriarch, teaches an online (Zoom) Adult Religion class on the Doctrine and Covenants. The class will resume in January Tuesdays, 10:00-11:30 Central time. If you would like to join the class, send him an email at lynn.johnson525@gmail.com.
Ward choir meets on Sundays at 3 PM in the Pack's home 18308 Hickory Bark Ct. Older kids and youth are welcome to join.

(Attached is a document with a list of items to inventory, to help you get started.)
Building a two-week to three-month supply of food and home essentials:
Attached is a list of foods and home essentials to purchase, store, and rotate. Evaluate which items you would like to stock up on to build a better long-term supply. To build a household and food supply for two-weeks to three-months over the coming year, sit down and plan out how much you want to spend each month and make a plan for what to purchase each month and where to store it. Don’t randomly buy food, but rather make a list of meals your family enjoys and then purchase ingredients for those recipes. Select brands your family prefers for personal hygiene (soaps, deodorants, shampoo, toothpaste, lotions, etc.)
· This document can be edited so you can add things not listed and delete things you do not use. This provides a starting baseline to adapt to the needs of your family. You can use it to keep track of what you do have, and/or what you want to purchase. This is very helpful in determining which food to buy for the recipes that your family eats, and that you want to store. Add notes to your list of where each item is stored.
The last page has a list of months of the year for filling in your goals and then printing them out, to regularly review on your fridge. You can also plan when to regularly assess your rotating inventory.
